This is part 3 of the ‘Make Tamarindo Costa, Rica Your Next Vacation’ series by WhatHappensInTamarindo.
When Is The Best Time To Visit Tamarindo?
Guanacaste Province, where Tamarindo is located, is right on the Pacific Ocean. It is often referred to as the ‘Gold Coast’.
The entire country of Costa Rica has warm temperatures year round (averaging between 72 and 82 °F (22 and 28 °C). But, as you can see, Tamarindo has some of the best weather in the country.
Tamarindo is said to have 2 seasons:
The Dry Season
Is usually from December to April or May.
In the dry season, it rarely rains. However, the tourists pour in and restaurants, activities, and beaches are quite crowded.
The Green Season
Having said that, this season is becoming more and more popular for tourists. The rain turns the everything green and the town is beautiful.
Whenever you decide to book your trip, two things are sure, you will have sunny days and you will experience the full Tico culture.
If you don’t mind the crowds, come in the dry season.
If you don’t mind rain, come in the green season.
I’m sure you’re wondering why you read this as my advice is a bit ambiguous and probably didn’t help you make a decision.
I guess that’s my point. It doesn’t matter when you come, you will have a great time.
